South Fork Colorado - Rio Grande CountyThe Town of South Fork, Colorado lies at the junction of the famous Rio Grande River and its South Fork. In the center of town, where highway 160 & 149 meet, you will find the beginning of the historic Silver Thread National Scenic Byway, a spectacular route that follows the winding Rio Grande to its headwaters in the San Juan Mountains. South Fork has become the center of a rapidly growing tourist and recreation area with real estate prices that you can still afford. The Town of Del Norte is actually closer to each ranch, as it lies east of South Fork River Ranches and north of Pronghorn Ranch. Del Norte is only about a 15 minute drive from South Fork and is the county seat for Rio Grande County. Outdoor Activities Include:
Surrounded by nearly 2 million acres of national forest, including both the San Juan & Rio Grande Forests. There are also views of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains to the east. South Fork also offers unique shops, art galleries, outdoor equipment supplies and outfitters. 
The rest of the San Luis Valley (see attractions map) also provides numerous opportunities & activities. Wolf Creek Ski AreaThe nearby Wolf Creek Ski Area offers outdoor recreation all year round.
